They didn't have your brown color, but "I Love This Cotton" was on sale for $2.66 per skein, so I picked up some cute colors to try out. You are right about how it feels... so soft and smooth... just luscious! My daughter has been wanting me to make her some face cloths - this might be perfect!

I made a few experimental dishrags last August (http://deborahrah.blogspot.com/2012/08/totally-hooked.html) and since then, have been searching for the perfect pattern to use. I like that "seed pattern", but find that it differs from person to person, so I look forward to your tutorial Kathleen!

Thank you for continuing to have such a beautiful blog... it has such a calming affect on me... I am a girl in my twenties and I love tradition. It saddens me that so much of who we are and where we come from is forgotten. My family has always valued homemade items. It was an urge to preserve and share this that recently inspired me to start my own blog, http://handcraftedholidayscrafts.blogspot.com/

I recently just posted about crochet washcloths and I think they are an amazing gift to yourself and others. I love the patterns you provided and I cant wait to try some of the things I've seen here.Handcrafted Holidayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02250287861322901004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6936759563200947460.post-62339275360320879142012-05-09T12:10:54.673-06:002012-05-09T12:10:54.673-06:00I just found your delightful blog from a mention a...I just found your delightful blog from a mention at Alison's Brocante Home. I started a Hope Chest for my own daughter some years ago, but it has been a little forgotten recently. Thank you for inspiring me to go and check through it and get started on something new for her. I recently picked up a beautiful set of 10 tea plates with two serving dishes that were just too beautiful to resist in a thriftshop closing down sale...but I do not need them at all. So you know where they are going! Also a nearly new and seemingly unused Julia Child's French Kitchen cookbook.
Thank you for posting so many lovely patterns and links. My crochet hook is twitching to get started! I shall look forwards to seeing your new pattern.Gillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206755114439637888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6936759563200947460.post-589557861536141252012-05-02T09:20:34.744-06:002012-05-02T09:20:34.744-06:00Susie, the brand is "I Love This Cotton"...Susie, the brand is "I Love This Cotton" - I know, it is an odd name - it sounds as if I am are describing it rather than naming it! They make solid colors as well, but the solids seem thicker to me than the twists. What a pretty shade of yarn, I have not seen that where I get my cotton worsted yarn? Do you remember what brand it is? I would love to buy some.
Blessings,
SusieLittle Susie Home Makerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17887516404693518321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6936759563200947460.post-5184118259420715272012-04-29T19:41:02.364-06:002012-04-29T19:41:02.364-06:00I like that shade of brown, too.
