I just started a new embroidery project - pillowcases for the hope chest. I've been mostly crocheting lately, because crochet is so easy to take along, and it seems like I'm always going someplace these days. But I've been feeling like a little embroidery, so here is the new project. I know, dishtowels are still in my basket as well, but I just didn't feel like working on them - does that ever happen to you? I guess that's why I have a BIG workbasket (actually a drawer!) Embroidery takes a bit more time, so don't look for the finished pillowcases anytime too soon...

In My Workbasket

I know exactly what you mean ~ I have a number of unfinished projects that I need to get moving on ~ sometimes I would rather do something else!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful already! Did you transfer the design or are these pre-stamped pillowcases?
ReplyDeleteDonna, I keep thinking that I won't start anything else until I clear out my current projects, but I keep finding new and beautiful things to do. I'm really quite undisciplined...doing the blog helps with that a little. ;o)
ReplyDeleteAngela, I didn't have to transfer the design. These are prestamped. I always wonder if I am being smart about using these prestamped pillowcases. The fabric isn't always the best and I wonder if they will hold up to the kind of use a family will give them, (if my family is anything to judge by...) but sometimes the designs are just so pretty that I work them anyway. Abigail may find they don't wear as well.
That is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I have just finished working on a batch of dresses for a ministry- they have been in progress since last summer! That's a big load off, then I replaced a zipper on my daughter's winter jacket (been avoiding that one since November or so- thankfully, she hasn't needed a heavy coat- just layers!)and several other larger mending projects. So now I can finish some spring sewing for her! I made myself do the icky stuff first. Cutesy spring sewing here I come! Keep inspiring us with your creativity. Brenda B. (Donna's sister)
ReplyDeleteWow - so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI always have about 10 projects on the go and another 30 or so in my head! I need more discipline and planning as I really don't use my time productively.
Thank you ladies! Wow, Brenda, I'm impressed with your great progress, especially for doing the icky stuff first! I think my mother tried to teach me that (LOL)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I need to pick up my embroidery again--after the cloth napkins, knitted placemats, decoupaged coasters, skirt alterations, and the knit baby blankets for my etsy shop. I am in the same boat at all of you -- bad habits start young, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I tagged you and miss Abigail on my blog :)
I have the same issue... I thought it had to do with my ADHD! Glad to know I'm not alone... projects in my head... projects in my bed... if I don't have one in process, I feel incomplete! When it is finished... Each project is much more than just yarn and hook...
ReplyDeleteThe favorite pieces in my hope chest were of my grandmother's embroidery... tablecloths... pillowcases... hankerchiefs... The ones I thought were "too old fashioned" are now treasures that my daughters fight over!
Love what you are doing Kathleen... just love it!
